Beautiful Ordinary Life

Hey everyone. I'm back with November's Blend A Sketch challenge at Scrap Our Stash. This month's challenge had 2 great sketches to draw inspiration from. I used the sketch on the right and added elements from the sketch on the left. From the left sketch I used the doilie, the thin vertical strips and the pennants. The stash part of the challenge was to use pennants or banners. I used Pinkfresh Studio's 'Indigo Hills 2' collection for this layout of my niece and her bestie. I absolutely LOVE this line. The colors are stunning. It's hard to tell from the photo, but I fussy cut the leaves from another piece of the same paper I used for the background. When attaching them to the background I overlapped them a bit from the bottom image. This created a cool effect. Below are some close ups and the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy Today

Hey everyone. I have a layout today that was inspired by the November cut files and die cuts challenge at The Studio Challenges. For the challenge you were to use cut files and/or die cuts, and you could make your own or use pre-made. I used die cuts from Vicki Boutin's 'Field Notes' collection from American Crafts. For the background I mixed some art crayons (also from Vicki), and applied them by stamping with stencils. Very cool technique. I also applied some drips to the left side of the page. The quote that I used was from the Thicker package that also came with the collection. Absolutely perfect for playing in puddles!!! Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Let's Stick Together

Hey everyone. Here's my take on the November You + Me = Love challenge at Scrap the Boys. The photo is of me and my grandson. I used PhotoPlay's 'Stuck on You' collection. This is such a fun line. For the background I applied some modelling paste through a Vicki Boutin stencil and then added watered down distress ink with a paint brush and the packaging technique. I also added splatters. The cutfile I used was from JustNick. I was also inspired by a sketch from the weekly sketches at Hip Kit Club. Below are some close ups and the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

The Best

Hey everyone. I have my take on this month's Golden Globe Stash Challenge at Scrap Our Stash. The movie inspired me to create a page of my grandson. A definite star in my family. Instead of pattern paper I used a cut file from Paige Evans and also used 3 enamel star shapes. I used Cocoa Vanilla Studio's 'Hello Sunshine' for this layout. Below are some close ups and the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

Bloom and Grow

Hey everyone. Here's my take on the October sketch at The Studio Challenges. I used the gorgeous 'Midnight' line from Cocoa Vanilla Studio for this layout of my niece. I flipped the sketch because of the way my niece was facing. I didn't want her to be looking off the layout. I applied modelling paste through a Carta Bella stencil, and then applied watered down distress ink with a brush and packaging technique. Below is the sketch and some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Mombie

Hey everyone. I have a layout to share that's inspired by the Dotty About Dots challenge at The Studio Challenges. The challenge was to use anything with dots.  I used enamel dots, ephemera with dots and I added splatters all around the page. I used Echo Park Paper's 'I Am Mom' collection with this adorable photo of my daughter and grandson. I used a brayer to apply the watered down distress on the background. The sketch that inspired this page was from PageMaps. Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.
