Hello Winter

Hey everyone. This week at The Studio Challenges there is a selfie challenge. I don't know about you,
but I am rarely in any of the layouts I create. I am usually the one behind the camera (if not stealing photos off my daughter/niece's phones) so it's nice from time to time to create a page with me in it. I recently took an on line photography class, and snapped these selfies of myself and faithful companion Beau, while trying out the tips I learned. I used two lines from Carta Bella called 'Let It Snow' and 'Cabin Fever'. For the background I applied watered down distress ink with the packaging technique and allowed some of the ink to drip. I then stamped some snowflakes with the same ink and misted the stamp with some water. I love the effect this creates. I would also like to welcome the newest members of the our design team. Great job ladies. Your layouts rock!! Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Autumn Days

Hey everyone. Happy New Year!! I have the first challenge of the year from The Studio Challenges to share with you today. This first challenge is a pretty easy one. You are to use old and new products on your page. For the something new I used Simple Stories' latest fall collection called 'Cozy Days'. For the something old I used hemp, staples and a stamp I have had forever. For the background I applied watered down distress ink with the packaging technique. I then stamped some dots. I misted the stamp with water before stamping. I love the effect this creates. We are currently looking for some more design team members. A blog is not necessary. Check out The Studio Challenges blog for all the info. Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Love You

Hey everyone. Here's the last challenge of the year from The Studio Challenges. It was a year in review challenge. 2020 was an especially hard year for our family so I decided to create a page of the best thing that happened. The addition of our sweet, precious Felix. I used paper and embellishments from Cocoa Vanilla's 'Daydream' line and fussy cut all the moths. Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Sweet

Hey everyone. Merry Christmas!!! I'm  really late posting this one. It's from a DT scrap lift challenge from November 29th at The Studio Challenges. I decided to scrap lift a layout from Rainny featuring a large rainbow. I chose pattern paper with alot of smaller rainbows and fussy cut them out. The page is one of my grandson, nice and sqeaky clean from a bath. He's so sweet and precious. I used paper and embellishments from Cocoa Vanilla's 'Daydream' collection. Close ups and the page I scrap lifted are below. Thanks for stopping by.

Family

Hey everyone. I love pattern paper, so this weeks challenge at The Studio Challenges was especially fitting. You were to use at least 5 different pattern papers on your layout. I was able to use 8. I used an older collection from Fancy Pants, called 'Golden Days'. For the background I applied some watered down distress ink with the packaging technique and then applied some ink through a stencil with a blending tool. The photo is one my daughter took at Thanksgiving dinner last year. Below are some close ups . Thanks for stopping by.

My Heart Is Full

Hey everyone. This week's challenge at The Studio Challenges is all about hexagons. I used a collection from Fancy Pants called 'Good Ol' Days' for this page of my two adorable grandsons. For the background I applied watered down distress ink with the packaging technique, as well as some stamping. I ended up covering most of it up, but you can see some peeking through. Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Autumn's In The Air

Hey everyone. This week's challenge at The Studio Challenges is a beautiful autumn mood board challenge. I used an older collection from Photoplay Paper called 'Falling Leaves'. It matched the photos of these sunflowers perfectly. For the background I applied watered down distress ink with the packaging technique. I then added some stencil stamping. The leaves were cut with a Prima die. Below are some close ups and the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

Real Life

Hey everyone. Happy Sunday. There's a stash busting challenge at The Studio Challenges today. You are to use your older stash. The older the better. I found a collection from Fancy Pants from 2014 called 'Flutter'. It matched my photo perfectly and the flair button made the best title. I tried something different for the background this time. I took some distress oxide pads and stamped them directly on the background. I then misted them with quite a bit of water and then soaked up the water with paper towel. I then stamped on the darker pink and added a few splatters. Very cool technique and sooo easy. Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Sweet Baby Boy

Hey everyone. I have a recipe challenge from The Studio Challenges to share with you. I was able to use all the items which were tags (behind the photo), a stamp (dots and alphabet), 3 or more patterned papers, a punch (scallop border), washi tape and puffy stickers (word and alphas). I used Echo Park Paper's 'Baby Boy' collection for this page of the first photo of my new grandson. So excited to have this little sweetie join the family. For the background I applied watered down distress ink with the packaging technique and then stamped with the ink. Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Perfect Photo Op

Hey everyone. Here's the last CSI file I solved for the month of August. It's cold case file #329. Some of the product clues I used are use older product ( My Mind's Eye collections from 2014 ), use diamonds, dots and stripes, use metal accents and hot air balloons. From the design clues I used create banners, use tearing, stitch a pattern and go wild with mixed media. These challenges are so fun. Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Brother

Hey everyone. Time for another challenge from The Studio Challenges. This time we were to create a layout about someone special in your life. I, of course, decided to create a page of my two grandsons. They are so sweet and adorable. I am so grateful and blessed to be their Gaga. I used a collection from Photo Play Paper called 'We Are Family'. This is such a beautiful line and perfect for any family photos. For the background I applied watered down distress ink with the packaging technique and then with stencil stamping. Lots of splatters followed. Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Splish Splash

Hey everyone. Here's the second case file I solved as a Special Investigator with the CSI team. It's case file #328. From the evidence elements I used plain card stock, summer or beach themed elements, circular elements and signs. From the testimony elements I used the topic to document a visit to a body of water and relax from the inspiration words. I used the 'Sunshine & Blue Skies' collection from Simple Stories for this page of my grandson enjoying a beautiful summer day at my brother's pool. The cut file was from Cut To You. Check out the CSI blog HERE. Below is the case file and some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.
