Autumn's In The Air

Hey everyone. This week's challenge at The Studio Challenges is a beautiful autumn mood board challenge. I used an older collection from Photoplay Paper called 'Falling Leaves'. It matched the photos of these sunflowers perfectly. For the background I applied watered down distress ink with the packaging technique. I then added some stencil stamping. The leaves were cut with a Prima die. Below are some close ups and the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

Brother

Hey everyone. Time for another challenge from The Studio Challenges. This time we were to create a layout about someone special in your life. I, of course, decided to create a page of my two grandsons. They are so sweet and adorable. I am so grateful and blessed to be their Gaga. I used a collection from Photo Play Paper called 'We Are Family'. This is such a beautiful line and perfect for any family photos. For the background I applied watered down distress ink with the packaging technique and then with stencil stamping. Lots of splatters followed. Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Honey Bee

Hey everyone.  For this week's challenge at The Studio Challenges you were to use stamps as the main feature on your layout. I stamped flowers using distress oxide ink and then using a water brush I blended out the colour. I am really loving this technique. I also stamped the word phrases. I used the 'Wild Honey' collection from PhotoPlay for this page of my niece and one of our dogs. Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

You Are Pretty Awesome

Hey everyone. I want to share my take on the latest challenge at The Studio Challenges. For this one you were to start with half a sheet of pattern paper on the background, and the rest was up to you. I used Photoplay Paper's 'Free Bird' collection for this page. The photo is of my daughter and grandson having breakfast on the morning of her wedding. I'm glad at least one of us was so chill and relaxed that morning!! For the background I used Vicki Boutin's art crayons to add some drips and splatters. Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

So Much Joy In This Little Boy

Hey everyone. I have my take on the November challenge from Scrap the Boys to share today. The challenge was to scrap a super hero in your life or use the graphic as inspiration. I decided to use the graphic as inspiration. I used the 'You Rock' line from Photoplay Paper and wood veneer stars from Jillibean Soup. For the background I applied watered down water colour markers from American Crafts. Below are some close ups and the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

Wonderful in Every Way

Hey everyone. I have a layout today for the Scrap the Boys May challenge. This challenge is celebrating Mother's Day. I chose a fun photo of my daughter and grandson. I used Photo Play Paper's 'Stuck On You' collection. For the background I applied watered down distress ink with the packaging technique. I then added some stamping, splatters and drips. So fun and easy!! The flair button was from Cuts2Luv. This page was also inspired by a sketch by Laura Whitaker for My Creative Scrapbook. Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Warm Hearts

Hey everyone. Hope you are enjoying the long weekend and were able to squeeze in a little crafting. I found this great sketch by Suzanna Lee on the Scrapbook Your Joy Inspirational Group on Facebook. I used the 'Snowball Fight' collection from Photoplay for this page of my daughter and grandson, all bundled up in the snow. The snowflakes were a cut file from Paige Evans. Below are some close ups and the sketch. Thanks for stopping by.

Shine Bright

Hey everyone. I have my take on February’s Pick Your Side Sketch Challenge at Scrap Our Stash for you today. I picked the left side of the sketch and using dies, cut circles from striped pattern paper. I used mixed alphas for the title. I have always wanted to use Shakespeare's little but fierce quote on a layout of my daughter, and this page about a crossfit competition was perfect. I used Photo Play's 'Paprika' collection. Love the colours and prints in this line. Below are some close ups and the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

Let's Stick Together

Hey everyone. Here's my take on the November You + Me = Love challenge at Scrap the Boys. The photo is of me and my grandson. I used PhotoPlay's 'Stuck on You' collection. This is such a fun line. For the background I applied some modelling paste through a Vicki Boutin stencil and then added watered down distress ink with a paint brush and the packaging technique. I also added splatters. The cutfile I used was from JustNick. I was also inspired by a sketch from the weekly sketches at Hip Kit Club. Below are some close ups and the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

Fun Day at the Zoo

Hey everyone. I have my take on Sketchabilities' September sketch to share with you today. For my daughter's birthday this year, her boyfriend surprised her with a road trip to the Moncton zoo. She was so excited and got to finally meet a llama. I had trouble narrowing down the pictures to three, so I decided to use all five. I love how the background turned out on this page. I used Vicki Boutin's art crayons and had to mix them to achieve the color I was looking for. I first applied them with the packaging technique. Once dry I added more through a stencil, with a stencil brush. Finally I stamped some on, using stamps from Vicki Boutin. The title, small leaf borders and the two monkeys were fussy cut from journal cards. I used Photo Play Paper's 'We Bought a Zoo' collection. It was perfect!! Make sure to check out the Sketchabilities blog for a ton of inspiration and how to play along. Below are some close ups and the sketch. Thanks for stopping by.
