Sweet Baby Boy

 

Hey everyone. I have a recipe challenge from The Studio Challenges to share with you. I was able to use all the items which were tags (behind the photo), a stamp (dots and alphabet), 3 or more patterned papers, a punch (scallop border), washi tape and puffy stickers (word and alphas). I used Echo Park Paper's 'Baby Boy' collection for this page of the first photo of my new grandson. So excited to have this little sweetie join the family. For the background I applied watered down distress ink with the packaging technique and then stamped with the ink. Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Snow Much Fun

Hey everyone. I have my take on this week's challenge at The Studio Challenges to share with you today. It's a mood board challenge. I had been wanting to create a layout with these photos and paper line for awhile now, and the mood board matched perfectly. I used Pinkfresh Studio's 'Noteworthy' collection for this page of my grandson, niece and nephew. They has such a blast that day. For the background I tried a new technique from Missy Whidden. I first applied watered down distress oxide with the packaging technique. I then stamped some snowflakes with distress oxide and using a water brush I moved alot of the colour around for a more water colour effect. Love how it turned out and can't wait to try this with some floral stamps. The cut file was from Kim Watson, created for Hip Kit Club.  Below are some close ups and the mood board. Hey everyone. I have a layout to share that has been created from one of my favourite collections. The beautiful Indigo Hills 2 line from Pinkfresh Studio. Next Chapter

Hey everyone. There's a fun challenge over on The Studio Challenges blog today. You are to use bows and tassels on your layout. I found a piece of ephemera that had a tassel. I attached another tassel to it that I made from embroidery floss. I tied a bow made from the same floss to a tag and I also made a paper bow from a Sizzix die. I used Pinkfresh Studio's 'Let Your Heart Decide' collection for this page of my niece. It's so hard to believe she is graduating this month. For the background I applied watered down distress ink with the packaging technique. I allowed some of it to drip in spots. I also added splatters with the distress ink and gold colour shine. You Feel Like Sunshine

Beautiful Ordinary Life

Hey everyone. I'm back with November's Blend A Sketch challenge at Scrap Our Stash. This month's challenge had 2 great sketches to draw inspiration from. I used the sketch on the right and added elements from the sketch on the left. From the left sketch I used the doilie, the thin vertical strips and the pennants. The stash part of the challenge was to use pennants or banners. I used Pinkfresh Studio's 'Indigo Hills 2' collection for this layout of my niece and her bestie. I absolutely LOVE this line. The colors are stunning. It's hard to tell from the photo, but I fussy cut the leaves from another piece of the same paper I used for the background. When attaching them to the background I overlapped them a bit from the bottom image. This created a cool effect. Below are some close ups and the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

Simple & Sweet

Hey everyone. I have my take on the October Golden Globe Stash Challenge at Scrap Our Stash to share with you today. The movie Sing is one of my grandson’s favourite movies. He loves music and animals. This challenge inspired me to create a layout of Finn relaxing at home and watching Sing. For the stash part of the challenge I added bling to the center of the lemon slices and scattered some around the page. I used Pink Fresh Studio's 'Simple & Sweet' line for this layout. I love the soft colors in this collection. For the background I used Vicki Boutin's art crayons from American Crafts. These are quickly becoming my go to for creating backgrounds. First Sketchabilities Reveal !!

Hey everyone. I'm so excited to share my first Sketchabilities reveal !! I love Karan's sketches and was thrilled to join her new design team.  For this first reveal I decided to stay true to my usual style. Watercolor backgrounds, machine stitching, white space and ..... my grandson.  These are some of my favorite photos of his adorable little face. For the background I used Vicki Boutin's art crayons and gold glaze. I mixed the crayons to achieve the color I was looking for and applied the blue color with the packaging technique. For the yellow, I used bubble wrap as a stamp. I applied some gold glaze through a Echo Park stencil and then watered it down and splattered it around the page. The pattern paper, ephemera, puffy heart stickers and stitched frames were from Pinkfresh Studios ' Let Your Heart Decide' collection. Below are some close ups and the sketch. Little Boy Kisses

Hey everyone. Here's my entry in Cuts2Luv February challenge. The two elements I chose from the moodboard are photo:your love and technique:splatters. The photos are of my daughter and adorable grandson. My two greatest loves. For the splatters I used black ink spray and gold color shine. I used Pink Fresh Studio's 'Escape the Ordinary' collection for this page. I love the thickness of their paper and the embellishments are awesome!!
