Blessed

Hey everyone. I have a layout to share based on the Hello Baby challenge at Scrap the Boys. I used the 'Flirty Fleur' collection from Prima for this layout of my grandson. For the background I first applied gesso with a pallet knife and with my finger. I then applied acrylic paint with the packaging technique. For the silver flowers I stamped on vellum with a stamp from Heartfelt Creations. I embossed the image with silver embossing powder and then fussy cut the image. The flowers were all made with a punch from EK Success. Love how they turned out!! Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by!!

Cool Kid

Hey everyone. For this month's blend a sketch challenge at Scrap Our Stash, I used my nephew's school photo from last year. I used the background from the sketch on the left, rotated it and used a cut file instead of pattern paper. From the sketch on the right I used the large element matting the photos, the flags and the location of the embellishment clusters. The stash part of the challenge was to use buttons or flairs. I used a flair. The pattern paper, ephemera, stickers and flair, were all from Cocoa Vanilla Studios' 'Boys Rule' collection. Love, love the colors in this line. The cutfile was from the Silhouette Store. I used art crayons from Vicki Boutin for the background. I had to mix them to achieve the colors I was looking for. I first applied them with the packaging technique. Using a stencil brush I then added them dry through a stencil. I also tried to use a stamp with the crayons, when they were watered down. It didn't work out that well, as all I got were some blobs. Not sure if it was due to the stamp or maybe too much water. This layout was also inspired by a challenge at The Studio Challenges, where you were to use numbers on your page. Below are some close ups and the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

Fun Day at the Zoo

Hey everyone. I have my take on Sketchabilities' September sketch to share with you today. For my daughter's birthday this year, her boyfriend surprised her with a road trip to the Moncton zoo. She was so excited and got to finally meet a llama. I had trouble narrowing down the pictures to three, so I decided to use all five. I love how the background turned out on this page. I used Vicki Boutin's art crayons and had to mix them to achieve the color I was looking for. I first applied them with the packaging technique. Once dry I added more through a stencil, with a stencil brush. Finally I stamped some on, using stamps from Vicki Boutin. The title, small leaf borders and the two monkeys were fussy cut from journal cards. I used Photo Play Paper's 'We Bought a Zoo' collection. It was perfect!! Make sure to check out the Sketchabilities blog for a ton of inspiration and how to play along. Below are some close ups and the sketch. Thanks for stopping by.

Grade 11

Hey everyone. It’s hard to believe September is here, so with the starting of school in mind, I decided to scrap my niece’s school photo from last year. For this month’s Golden Globe Stash Challenge at Scrap Our Stash, we were to create a grid layout. I decided to make mine a little uneven and overlap it a bit. For the stash portion of the challenge I fussy cut the white leaf wreath from a Prima transparency. I used Jillibean Soup's 'Farmhouse Stew' collection for this page. Love the warm colors in this line with the pops of turquoise. Below are some close ups and the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.
