Sunshine in My Soul
Hey everyone. I have my take on the February sketch challenge at The Studio Challenges to share with you today. I used the 'Wild at Heart' collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio for this page. For the background I applied watered down distress ink with the packaging technique. Once this was dry I then stamped on the background and added splatters. Below are some close ups and the sketch. Thanks for stopping by.

Hey
Hey everyone. I have a layout to share with you today that's inspired by two different Facebook challenges. On Vicki Boutin's Mixed Media Community there is a wonderful sketch this month by designer Jana. The February challenge at Cuts2Luv is also on Facebook. This, unfortunately, will be the last challenge at Cuts2Luv. From the mood board I used word:love and technique:texture paste.
I used Vicki Boutin's 'All the Good Things' collection for this page of my grandson's first time on the back of a pony. When mom's away, the boys will play!! I applied texture paste through one of Vicki's stencils. Once dry I applied watered down art crayon with the packaging technique and with a brush. I then applied a few different coloured splatters and some drips. I mixed the art crayons to get the colour I was looking for. Below are some close ups and the challenges. Thanks for stopping by.

Shine Bright
Hey everyone. I have my take on February’s Pick Your Side Sketch Challenge at Scrap Our Stash for you today. I picked the left side of the sketch and using dies, cut circles from striped pattern paper. I used mixed alphas for the title. I have always wanted to use Shakespeare's little but fierce quote on a layout of my daughter, and this page about a crossfit competition was perfect. I used Photo Play's 'Paprika' collection. Love the colours and prints in this line. Below are some close ups and the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

I'm So Plaid You're My Dad
Hey everyone. I'm so excited to share my first reveal from The Studio Challenges with you. The challenge was to scrap lift a layout from another design team member. I chose a layout by Helen from September. Since the picture I wanted to use was horizontal, I rotated Helen's layout. Instead of gears and stars, I used leaves and flair buttons. I used Simple Stories' 'Plaid Dad' line for this page of my grandson and his Dad. The cut file for the leaves was from Vicki Boutin and the flair buttons were from Cuts2Luv. Below are some close ups and a photo of the layout I scrap lifted. Be sure to check out TSC blog for a ton of inspiration. Thanks for stopping by.

Thankful
Hey everyone. Here’s my take on this month’s Saturday Cartoon challenge at Scrap Our Stash. Popeye and Olivia inspired me to create a page of my daughter and her fiancĂ©. I don’t have many pictures of just the two of them so I chose this photo of them with my grandson. For the stash portion of the challenge I added some ephemera, sticker and chipboard hearts. I used Simple Stories' "Forever Fall" collection for this page. I love the colours in this line. The cutfile was from Just Nick cutfiles. Below are some close ups and the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.
