Lovely Day

Hey everyone. Here's my take on the December 30th sketch at The Studio Challenges. I used 'The Yellow Door' collection from Fancy Pants for this layout of my niece. She's growing up so fast. The background was inspired by a Friday Night Live by Vicki Boutin. I applied watered down art crayons to the background and then stamped some circles with a styrofoam cup. I mixed some art crayons together to achieve the color I was looking for. I then watered down some of Vicki's acrylic paint and stamped some circles using a piece of bubble wrap. Hey everyone. I have a layout to share based on the Hello Baby challenge at Scrap the Boys. I used the 'Flirty Fleur' collection from Prima for this layout of my grandson. For the background I first applied gesso with a pallet knife and with my finger. I then applied acrylic paint with the packaging technique. For the silver flowers I stamped on vellum with a stamp from Heartfelt Creations. I embossed the image with silver embossing powder and then fussy cut the image. Hey everyone. Here's my take on July's sketch at Sketchabilities. I took these photos for fun one day, never intending to use them, but then decided why not. I definitely need to work on my selfie game though. For the background I used acrylic paint from Vicki Boutin (American Crafts). I first applied the pink using the packaging technique, and then the yellow by stamping with bubble wrap. The pattern paper, ephemera and kraft tags are from Fancy Pants' 'Sweet Nothings' collection. Live Color Fully

Hey everyone. Here's my take on the May blend a sketch challenge at Scrap Our Stash. I was inspired by the large circle element from the left sketch and the brackets and diagonal piece from the bottom of the right sketch. For the wood veneer pieces I used a mixture from Kaiser Craft and Jillibean Soup. For the background I used acrylic paints from Vicki Boutin. I first painted a circle on a large piece of plastic packaging. I then stamped the image on a piece of white cardstock. You Are My Sunshine

Hey everyone. Here's my take on one of The Studio Challenges' April challenges. They are joining up with Stick It Down and using their April single page sketch, as well as challenging you to use a song title or lyrics on your layout. I used the song 'You Are My Sunshine' which was very fitting for a page of my grandson. I used Vicki Boutin's older paper line as well as some frames from the collection. I used her acrylic paints for the background, applying them with the packaging technique and with bubble wrap as a stamp. The butterflies were fussy cut from pattern paper, layered and then stitched together. Hey everyone. Here’s my take on this month’s Golden Globe stash challenge at Scrap Our Stash. Instead of the balloons on the movie poster I was inspired to use kites, which I fussy cut. I really enjoy how these challenges make me think outside the box. The cloud outlines were from a Just Nick cut file. The ephemera and pattern paper were from the Carousel collection from Maggie Holmes and Crate Paper.  For the background I used acrylic paint from Vicki Boutin and American Crafts. At first I applied some paint with a brush and then added water to make the drips. After that I used a piece of packaging to move the color around. Once that was dry I used a small piece of bubble wrap and a styrofoam cup as stamps. I also added splatters of each color and to finish things off added more splatters of gold color shine. Hey everyone. Here’s my take on the March blend a sketch challenge at Scrap Our Stash. I used the two small photos, circle element and large uncentered frame from the left sketch and added it to the right sketch. For the second part of the challenge I layered 3 polaroid frames on the right side of the layout. I used Paige Evans ‘Turn the Page’ collection for this layout. This line contained paper with cups and mugs that I just had to fussy cut for this page of my addiction to a Tim’s drink. Aren't they cute!!

For the background I applied some of Vicki Boutin's acrylic paint using the packaging technique. Once that was dry I applied some of her gold glaze through a stencil.

Best Day

Hey everyone. Here's my take on Stuck?!Sketches January 15th sketch and the mood board challenge at The Studio Challenges. Love the colors in the mood board. They matched perfectly with the Maggie Holmes' 'Carousel' line from Crate Paper that I used. I love this collection. It's so fun. I fussy cut the arrows, title and ephemera.

I used acrylic paints from Vicki Boutin and American Crafts to make the background. I mixed 2 of the paints to achieve the color I was looking for. I added some water to the paint and then painted a ring on a piece of acrylic. I then stamped the image on my background. Pretty cool and very easy.

I also splattered some of the paint around the page along with some black ink spray. Below is the sketch and mood board. Thanks for stopping by.

Bundle Up

Hey everyone. Merry Christmas !!! It's hard to believe that this is the last challenge of the year. I have really enjoyed being on the Scrap Our Stash design team and look forward to the new challenges coming next year. The pattern paper, enamel dots, ephemera and stickers used, were all from Echo Park Paper's 'A Perfect Winter'. For the word portion of this challenge I used the following items from my stash:
