I'll Go Anywhere With You

 

Hey everyone. I'm super excited to announce that I was asked to be a Special Investigator on the CSI team for the month of August. You can check out their blog post HERE. The first case I solved was case file # 327. I used the 'On Our Way' collection from Fancy Pants for this page. From the evidence elements I used stripes, map print, grid pattern, check pattern, cork, travel themed elements, metal, sunglasses, cursive font, camera and borders. From the testimony elements I used the outing topic. Make sure to check out their blog. The Boys

Hey everyone. There's a fun shape challenge at The Studio Challenges today. You are to use 3 squares, 2 circles and 1 triangle. I used 3 larger squares of pattern paper behind my photo. For the circles I used 1 flair button and 1 punched circle and for the triangle I used a flag with the word fun. I used the 'Legendary' collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio for this page of my grandson and his dad. For the background I totally scrap lifted a page from Vicki Boutin. Using distress ink I first applied some with the packaging technique. I then stencil stamped and stamped with the ink. I also stamped using the same colour in distress paint. Finally I added splatters with watered down distress ink. Absolutely love how it turned out. For added texture I also added some cheese cloth behind half of my photo. Below are some close ups. Nope Not Today

Hey everyone. I have an inspired by fashion challenge, from Scrapbook Your Joy, to share with you today. There were a number of Pinterest runway photos to draw inspiration from. I was inspired by the colours and white flowers in one of the dresses. I used an older collection from Simple Stories called '# Whatever' for this page of my daughter and grandson. What can I say. Making It Up As I Go

Hey everyone. Here's my take on the June challenge at Sketchy Boards Challenge. I used Crate Paper's 'All Heart' collection for this page. From the mood board I was inspired by the flowers and the colour pink. For the background I painted water colour markers on with a large flat brush. Hey everyone. I have a layout to share based on the Hello Baby challenge at Scrap the Boys. I used the 'Flirty Fleur' collection from Prima for this layout of my grandson. For the background I first applied gesso with a pallet knife and with my finger. I then applied acrylic paint with the packaging technique. For the silver flowers I stamped on vellum with a stamp from Heartfelt Creations. I embossed the image with silver embossing powder and then fussy cut the image. Nana Love

Hey everyone. I have my take on the August sketch at Sketchabilities to share with you today. The photos are of my mom and grandson. This little guy gets lots of love !!!  The pattern paper, ephemera, stickers, thickers and enamel dots are from Vicki Boutin's 'All the Good Things' collection from American Crafts. For the background I first applied a light coat of gesso to a piece of lined pattern paper. I then mixed two colors of art crayons and water, also from Vicki's collection. My first thought was to apply the color as big drops, but once the color hit the paper it smudged a little. I also splattered some ink spray, which did form drops. The butterflies and flowers were fussy cut from pattern paper, and then attached with foam squares for some dimension. Below are some close ups and the sketch. Your Vibe Your Tribe

Hey everyone. I have my take on the August Golden Globe Stash Challenge to share with you. The movie inspired me to create a page of my niece and her bestie. These two are pretty tight. I used Simple Stories' 'Good Vibes' collection for this layout. For the stash part of the challenge I used a journal card for the title and also fussy cut the flowers from another journal card. I included the word friend in my handwritten journalling. A friend cut the cutfile for me at a crop, so I'm not 100% sure where it came from. Beautiful

Hey everyone. I have a layout to share that's based on the July challenge at Cuts2Luv and the July 1st challenge at The Studio Challenges. The photos are of my niece on her way to the prom this year. She had to stop and pose with our dogs Beau and Rudy. So cute. I used PhotoPlay's 'Moments in Time' collection for this page. This line is so soft and pretty. The cutfile was from Paige Evans. I used distress oxides for the background and painted the cutfile with them as well. The stamp I used was from Hero Arts. The flowers were made with a flower punch and the white ones were also painted with distress oxide ink. For the Cuts2Luv challenge I used 3 elements from the mood board:

So There's This Boy

Hey everyone. I have a layout based on the July challenge at Scrap the Boys. This month it's all about stars!!! I may have went a little crazy with them. I used Jillibean Soup's '2 Cool for School' collection for this page of my daughter and grandson. When I saw this journal card I knew I had to use it for my title. This little boy has definitely stolen a few hearts. I love the colors in this line. Navy and tourquoise, with pops of green, is a new fav. For the background I applied distress ink with the packaging technique. I then added the stars by using a stencil and blending tool. Splatters in all three colors followed. I punched out a number of stars from paper and also added some small wood veneer stars. Close ups are below. Thanks for stopping by.
