Family

Hey everyone. I love pattern paper, so this weeks challenge at The Studio Challenges was especially fitting. You were to use at least 5 different pattern papers on your layout. I was able to use 8. I used an older collection from Fancy Pants, called 'Golden Days'. For the background I applied some watered down distress ink with the packaging technique and then applied some ink through a stencil with a blending tool. The photo is one my daughter took at Thanksgiving dinner last year. Below are some close ups . Thanks for stopping by.

My Heart Is Full

Hey everyone. This week's challenge at The Studio Challenges is all about hexagons. I used a collection from Fancy Pants called 'Good Ol' Days' for this page of my two adorable grandsons. For the background I applied watered down distress ink with the packaging technique, as well as some stamping. I ended up covering most of it up, but you can see some peeking through. Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Real Life

Hey everyone. Happy Sunday. There's a stash busting challenge at The Studio Challenges today. You are to use your older stash. The older the better. I found a collection from Fancy Pants from 2014 called 'Flutter'. It matched my photo perfectly and the flair button made the best title. I tried something different for the background this time. I took some distress oxide pads and stamped them directly on the background. I then misted them with quite a bit of water and then soaked up the water with paper towel. I then stamped on the darker pink and added a few splatters. Very cool technique and sooo easy. Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Together We Have It All

Hey everyone. I have this month's sketch challenge from The Studio Challenges to share with you. I used Simple Stories 'So Happy Together' collection for this layout of my daughter and her little family. For the background I applied modelling paste through a stencil and then added watered down distress ink with the packaging technique and a brush. Below is the sketch and some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

I'll Go Anywhere With You

Hey everyone. I'm super excited to announce that I was asked to be a Special Investigator on the CSI team for the month of August. You can check out their blog post HERE. The first case I solved was case file # 327. I used the 'On Our Way' collection from Fancy Pants for this page. From the evidence elements I used stripes, map print, grid pattern, check pattern, cork, travel themed elements, metal, sunglasses, cursive font, camera and borders. From the testimony elements I used the outing topic. Make sure to check out their blog. There is a TON of inspiration from the design team and the creative possibilities are endless with their challenges. Below are some close ups and the case file # 327. Thanks for stopping by.

Best Friend

Hey everyone. I have a layout to share with you today that is based on the June challenge at Scrap the Boys. The challenge was to create a layout of his best friend, of the furry variety. Finn has quite a few furry friends, but I would have to say that Lenny is his best friend. Never far from his side and always looking for head butts, Lenny is a great kitty. I used an older collection from Fancy Pants called 'Good Fellows' for this page. Watered down art crayons were used on the background. Below is the challenge and some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Lovely Day

Hey everyone. Here's my take on the December 30th sketch at The Studio Challenges. I used 'The Yellow Door' collection from Fancy Pants for this layout of my niece. She's growing up so fast. The background was inspired by a Friday Night Live by Vicki Boutin. I applied watered down art crayons to the background and then stamped some circles with a styrofoam cup. I mixed some art crayons together to achieve the color I was looking for. I then watered down some of Vicki's acrylic paint and stamped some circles using a piece of bubble wrap. Love how it turned out. Below are some close ups and the sketch. Thanks for stopping by.

Twinkle Lights

Hey everyone. Happy New Year!! I have a layout to share that is based on the December sketch at My Creative Scrapbook. I absolutely love this sketch by Laura Whitaker, and couldn't wait to develop some Christmas pictures and play. I used an older Fancy Pants Christmas line called 'Holiday Hustle' for this page of my grandson checking out the ornaments on the tree. Below is the sketch and some close ups. Thanks for stopping by!!

Love Grows Best

Hey everyone. Here's my take on the October sketch at My Creative Scrapbook. I used pattern paper, ephemera and wooden spools from the 'Magnolia Moments' collection from Fancy Pants.  For the background I applied watered down distress ink with a brayer. This is the first time I used a brayer, and I really love how it turned out. Below are some close ups and the sketch. Thanks for stopping by.

Thankful

Hey everyone. I have a layout to share based on the October mood board at Cuts2Luv. The photos are of my daughter and her little family, out for a walk around our property. I used 'The Yellow Door' collection for this page. It's Fancy Pants' newest line. Kinda funky, but I like it !! For the challenge you are to pick at least 2 items from the mood board and use a Cuts2Luv product. I used the sketch and lace embellishment from the mood board, and included a today flair button from Cuts2Luv. Below are some close ups and the mood board. Thanks for stopping by.
