Wonderful in Every Way
Hey everyone. I have a layout today for the Scrap the Boys May challenge. This challenge is celebrating Mother's Day. I chose a fun photo of my daughter and grandson. I used Photo Play Paper's 'Stuck On You' collection. For the background I applied watered down distress ink with the packaging technique. I then added some stamping, splatters and drips. So fun and easy!! The flair button was from Cuts2Luv. This page was also inspired by a sketch by Laura Whitaker for My Creative Scrapbook. Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Hey
Hey everyone. I have a layout to share with you today that's inspired by two different Facebook challenges. On Vicki Boutin's Mixed Media Community there is a wonderful sketch this month by designer Jana. The February challenge at Cuts2Luv is also on Facebook. This, unfortunately, will be the last challenge at Cuts2Luv. From the mood board I used word:love and technique:texture paste.
I used Vicki Boutin's 'All the Good Things' collection for this page of my grandson's first time on the back of a pony. When mom's away, the boys will play!! I applied texture paste through one of Vicki's stencils. Once dry I applied watered down art crayon with the packaging technique and with a brush. I then applied a few different coloured splatters and some drips. I mixed the art crayons to get the colour I was looking for. Below are some close ups and the challenges. Thanks for stopping by.

I'm So Plaid You're My Dad
Hey everyone. I'm so excited to share my first reveal from The Studio Challenges with you. The challenge was to scrap lift a layout from another design team member. I chose a layout by Helen from September. Since the picture I wanted to use was horizontal, I rotated Helen's layout. Instead of gears and stars, I used leaves and flair buttons. I used Simple Stories' 'Plaid Dad' line for this page of my grandson and his Dad. The cut file for the leaves was from Vicki Boutin and the flair buttons were from Cuts2Luv. Below are some close ups and a photo of the layout I scrap lifted. Be sure to check out TSC blog for a ton of inspiration. Thanks for stopping by.

Hello Winter
Hey everyone. I have my take on the first Pick Your Side Sketch Challenge at Scrap Our Stash. I went with the left side. I used Echo Park Paper's 'A Perfect Winter' collection for this layout of my niece, posing on New Year's Eve. The cut file was a freebie from Jillibean Soup. For the background I applied modelling paste through a stencil and then added watered down distress ink. I sprayed a little water also to allow the ink to spread out. For the stash portion you were to use flowers. I added some flower stickers as well as using pattern paper with flowers. I was also inspired by the Cuts2Luv January challenge. You were to pick 2 elements from the mood board. I picked three. They were badge:snowflake, picture:winter and technique:layering. Below are the challenges and some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Tis the Season
Hey everyone. I have a layout to share that is based on two December challenges. The first is from Cuts2Luv. The two items I picked from the mood board are picture:Christmas spirit and embellishments:snowflakes. The second was The Studio Challenges where you were to use gold on your project. I embossed some gold snowflakes on vellum as well as splattering gold color shine around the page. I used the Merry & Bright collection from Simple Stories for this layout of my grandson helping to pick out our Christmas trees. The cutfile that I used was from the Hip Kit Club. Below are some close ups and the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

Thankful
Hey everyone. I have a layout to share based on the October mood board at Cuts2Luv. The photos are of my daughter and her little family, out for a walk around our property. I used 'The Yellow Door' collection for this page. It's Fancy Pants' newest line. Kinda funky, but I like it !! For the challenge you are to pick at least 2 items from the mood board and use a Cuts2Luv product. I used the sketch and lace embellishment from the mood board, and included a today flair button from Cuts2Luv. Below are some close ups and the mood board. Thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful
Hey everyone. I have a layout to share that's based on the July challenge at Cuts2Luv and the July 1st challenge at The Studio Challenges. The photos are of my niece on her way to the prom this year. She had to stop and pose with our dogs Beau and Rudy. So cute. I used PhotoPlay's 'Moments in Time' collection for this page. This line is so soft and pretty. The cutfile was from Paige Evans. I used distress oxides for the background and painted the cutfile with them as well. The stamp I used was from Hero Arts. The flowers were made with a flower punch and the white ones were also painted with distress oxide ink. For the Cuts2Luv challenge I used 3 elements from the mood board:
The sketch
Technique: Distress paper
Embellishment: Stamps
The challenge at The Studio Challenges was to use a big shape. I hope a big cutfile can be considered a big shape!! Below are some close ups and the mood board. Thanks for stopping by.

Catching Waves
Hey everyone. I started the background for this page about a year and a half ago at a crop. It had sat on my desk ever since. Recently I have slowly begun to "reorganize" and decided it had to be finished. I was having a little trouble with the type of embellishments to use, and this month's mood board at Cuts2Luv gave me some great ideas. From the mood board I used the following:
photo: sunny
technique:frame
embellishment: word stickers
badge:butterfly
The pattern paper I used was from Authentique, and believe it or not, was a baby collection called 'Cuddle Boy'. The stamps and dies used to create the flowers were from Heartfelt Creations (Tropical Hibiscus). I colored the flowers and background with distress ink. I added prills and clear Wink of Stella to the flowers to jazz them up a bit. The wood veneer was from Creative Embellishments and I used embossing powder from Ranger and WOW! to emboss the wood pieces. Other products used were glitter paste from Bobunny, word stickers from Tim Holtz's Ideology line and enamel hearts from Bella Blvd. I used a sketch from Creative Scrappers Volume 4 as well. Below are some close ups and the mood board. Thanks for stopping by.

Love This
Hey everyone. I have a layout to share that is based on the May challenges at The Studio Challenges and Cuts2Luv. At The Studio Challenges one of their May challenges was to use stencils or masks on your layout. At Cuts2Luv you were to choose 2 items from the mood board. I used all but one. I used the 'Bohemian Dream' collection from Cocoa Vanilla for this layout of my daughter and her little family. This line is so pretty. I used a stencil from Carta Bella to apply modelling paste. The water color background was made using distress ink. Below are some close ups and the mood board. Thanks for stopping by.
