King of Everything
Hey everyone. Wanted to share a layout that was inspired by the Sketchy Boards Challenge for May, on Facebook. I used the 'Boys Rule' line by Cocoa Vanilla Studio for this page of my grandson and his Dad, goofing around at home. I LOVE Cocoa Vanilla Studio!!! Everything, from the paper to embellishments, is to die for. For the background I applied some watered down distress ink with the packaging technique, then added some stamping and splatters. I was also inspired by a layout by Sue Plumb, who is on the DT for Cocoa Vanilla. Below are some close ups and the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

Quiet Time
Hey everyone. I have my take on the May Pick Your Side Sketch Challenge at Scrap Our Stash, to share with you today. This month I picked the left side of the sketch, and I added a tag to the top of the mat framing the photo. I love this photo of my grandson flipping through a book on his chair. So adorable!! The ' Hardy Hodgepodge' collection from Jillibean Soup matched perfectly!! For the background I applied some watered down distress oxide ink, and then flicked some water to make watermarks. I also added some ink through an alphabet stencil and then splatters in three colours. Below are some close ups and the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

Sweet Thing
Hey everyone. There's another great challenge over at The Studio Challenges today. This week we are to use lots of pantone's colour of the year, which is coral. When I googled it, one site said that light turquoise went well with coral, so I decided to use a bit of that as well. I used Cocoa Vanilla's 'More Than Words' collection. This line is so soft and pretty. The hexagon cutfile was from Paige Evans. For the background I only added some grey splatters. It's been awhile since splatters were the only thing I added to the background. Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Wonderful in Every Way
Hey everyone. I have a layout today for the Scrap the Boys May challenge. This challenge is celebrating Mother's Day. I chose a fun photo of my daughter and grandson. I used Photo Play Paper's 'Stuck On You' collection. For the background I applied watered down distress ink with the packaging technique. I then added some stamping, splatters and drips. So fun and easy!! The flair button was from Cuts2Luv. This page was also inspired by a sketch by Laura Whitaker for My Creative Scrapbook. Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

My Happiness
Hey everyone. Got another Saturday Cartoon Sketch Challenge from Scrap Our Stash to share with you today. I chose to use rainbow colours on my page. This is one of my favourite photos of my daughter and grandson. I used Cocoa Vanilla's new 'Happiness' collection. This line is so beautiful!! I used Vicki Boutin's new watercolour markers for the background. A little certainly goes a long way with these markers. Below are some close ups and the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

In the Summer Time
Hey everyone. There's a new challenge on The Studio Challenges blog today. It's called the power of 3 and you are to use 3 of everything. For the challenge I used the following: 3 photos, 3 pattern papers, 3 circle elements, 3 stickers, 3 enamel dot clusters, 3 stencilled areas, 3 word strips and 3 flowers. I used Cocoa Vanilla Studio's 'Hello Sunshine' collection for this page of my grandson's first trip to the beach. For the background I first applied some watered down distress ink with the packaging technique and then stencilled some circles. Below are some close ups. Make sure to check out TSC blog for a ton of inspiration. Thanks for stopping by.

Oh Snap
Hey everyone. I have a layout today that has been inspired by the April sketch by Jana, on the Vicki Boutin Mixed Media Community. I used Vicki's new Colour Kaleidoscope collection for this layout of my daughter. Such a colourful and pretty line. For the background I applied watered down art crayons with the packaging technique. I then applied some dry art crayons with a stencil brush, through a stencil. Finally I applied silver glaze with a stencil brush, through a stencil. Lots of lovely layers!! Got a ton of use from the 6x8 paper pad as well, with lots of fussy cutting. Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.
