Gadget Girls 2013 Spring Crop Classes
Hey everyone. Just wanted to share the layout classes that I taught at the Gadget Girl's Spring Crop in New Glasgow. I used We R Memory Keepers 'Vintage T' collection. This stuff is very cool. There is actual stitching on some of the papers. Anyone who knows me, knows that I don't go far without my sewing machine so this was a real bonus. I also used some of Bobunny's double dot paper which matched perfectly. The circles were stamped with a syrofoam cup. The splatters were made by brushing some water onto a distress stain dabber and then wacking it on the layout. Another very easy technique. It was literally a 3 min video on you-tube that I stumbled across. The stars were made by cutting up small pieces of foil tape and layering them on cardstock. I then cut them out with Spellbinder dies and added little rivets and crosses with a pen and bone folder. I then inked them with alcohol inks. A technique seen on, the king himself....... Tim Holtz's blog. This layout was inspired by a Creative Scrappers sketch.
For the second layout I also used a line by We R Memory Keepers. This collection is called 'Good Day Sunshine'. The larger flowers were all made with circles. The smaller ones were made by layering two punched flowers. The technique on the left of the layout also involves circles. A small piece of chipboard was placed in the center of the pattern paper circle and the edges were then folded over. By placing the folded circles side by side, you get this very cool pattern. This technique and layout was inspired by a class, I had the good fortune of taking, at Crop and Create in Moncton last year. All of the products used were of course purchased from Shabby Shutters.
If you are interested in attending a Gadget Girls Crop, which I highly recommend, check them out on facebook. Hope you like the layouts and thanks for stopping by.

Weekend Scrapping Class
Hey everyone. I'm abit late adding this to the blog but I guess better late then never. This was a weekend class that was offered at Shabby Shutters in March. Both layouts use Pink Paislee's 'City Sidewalks' collection.
The chevron pattern was made by attaching strips of paper to a piece of cardstock. I then stitched the pattern pieces down and trimmed the pattern out. Two journaling tags are tucked in behind. The snowflakes were made with gesso and dry glitter. The inspiration for this layout came from the 2013 Scrapbook and Cards Today calendar.
The stars were made by covering cardstock with foil tape. I then cut out the stars with Spellbinder dies and embossed some of them. Very easy technique. This layout was inspired from a layout found on Pink Paislee's blog. One of my fave spots to look for inspiration. Hope you like them and thanks for stopping by.

Winter Layout Class
Hey everyone. Here's a winter layout using We R Memory Keeper's 'Winter Frost' collection. I just love the colors!! The hexagons were cut using Spellbinder dies. The large snowflake was cut from chipboard painted with gesso and then covered with tissue paper. I then colored it with distress stain, more gesso and then sprinkled some dry glitter. The die used to cut the snowflake was from Sizzix. WOW embossing powder and dylusions spray also make an appearance.
This was another class taught at Shabby Shutters and was inspired from a PageMaps sketch. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

Snowflake Layout
Hey everyone. Here's a wintery layout using some of Bobunny's Powder Mountain collection. The splatters were made by brushing some water on a distress stain dabber and smacking it onto the paper. Very cool technique I must say!!! Saw it on a 30 second youtube video. The snowflakes were made by layering 4 snowflake punches and then covering them with a thin coat of gesso. I then stamped an image in the gesso and sprinked on some dry glitter. Another very cool technique. Just love the snowflakes that this makes!!! Here's a close up.
Kinda hard to see the detail but believe me when I say they are super cute!!! The inspiration for this layout was a Creative Scrappers sketch. It was a class taught at Shabby Shutters. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.
