Happy Autumn Days

 

Hey everyone. Happy New Year!! I have the first challenge of the year from The Studio Challenges to share with you today. This first challenge is a pretty easy one. You are to use old and new products on your page. For the something new I used Simple Stories' latest fall collection called 'Cozy Days'. For the something old I used hemp, staples and a stamp I have had forever. For the background I applied watered down distress ink with the packaging technique. I then stamped some dots. I misted the stamp with water before stamping. I love the effect this creates. We are currently looking for some more design team members. A blog is not necessary. Catching Waves

Hey everyone. I started the background for this page about a year and a half ago at a crop. It had sat on my desk ever since. Recently I have slowly begun to "reorganize" and decided it had to be finished. I was having a little trouble with the type of embellishments to use, and this month's mood board at Cuts2Luv gave me some great ideas. From the mood board I used the following:

The pattern paper I used was from Authentique, and believe it or not, was a baby collection called 'Cuddle Boy'. The stamps and dies used to create the flowers were from Heartfelt Creations (Tropical Hibiscus). I colored the flowers and background with distress ink. I added prills and clear Wink of Stella to the flowers to jazz them up a bit. The wood veneer was from Creative Embellishments and I used embossing powder from Ranger and WOW! to emboss the wood pieces. Other products used were glitter paste from Bobunny, word stickers from Tim Holtz's Ideology line and enamel hearts from Bella Blvd. I used a sketch from Creative Scrappers Volume 4 as well. Adventure Awaits

Hey everyone. Here's my take on Stuck?!Sketches July 15th sketch. This layout is also a take on More Than Words July challenge, where the word inspiration was explore and the creative challenge was arrows. The photo is of my niece and her boyfriend exploring the river that runs along our property. I also used the word on the lower left of the page. Hey everyone. Time for another reveal at Scrap Our Stash. This one is for the May Tic Tac Toe Challenge. The photos are of my niece and her boyfriend exploring in Cavendish, PEI. All papers, diecuts, buttons and stickers were from Bobunny's 'Take a Hike' collection. I decided to change things up a bit , so instead of using watercolors on the background, I applied Bobunny glitter paste through one of their stickable stencils. Love how it turned out!!! Dream Big

Hey everyone. Here's my take on Stuck?!Sketches March 1st sketch. The pattern papers, diecuts, stickers and chipboard buttons all came from Bobunny's 'Beautiful Dreamer' collection.  For the background I applied gesso first and then added the watercolors. I used bundled sage distress ink as the green for the background. It is a very light green and is difficult to see in the picture..... but it is there. Below are some close ups and the sketch. Hello Spring

Hey everyone. Here's my take on Creative Scrappers sketch #298. The pattern paper, stickers and buttons were all from Bobunny's 'Secret Garden' collection. Gotta love Bobunny!!!! The little bird was fussy cut from pattern paper. I tried a new technique on the background. I stamped distress ink on a piece of plastic packaging, sprayed alittle water and stamped the ink to the background. It worked rather well and I will be trying it again. Hey everyone. Here's a layout I created for the May 6th sketch at ScrapMuch? The picture is of my daughter taking a "nice picture" for me....... and she thought I wouldn't scrap it. Jokes on her!!! The pattern paper, buttons and word sticker was from Bobunny's 'Beautiful Dreamer' collection. I didn't follow the sketch closely. The parts that inspired me were the large hexagon and the triangular arrangement  of heart embellishments. For the flowers, I first stamped them on cardstock and painted them with several layers of distress ink. I stamped the ink on my craft mat and sprayed it with water. The flowers were dried between each layer of ink. This creates a nice water color effect on the flowers. Below are some close ups and the sketch. Thanks for stopping by.

Come Fly With Me

Hey everyone. Here's a layout I created for Stuck?!Sketches May 15th challenge. The pictures are of my daughter and I on Mother's Day. The pattern paper and chipboard buttons are from Bobunny's 'Beautiful Dreamer' collection. The flowers were made using Heartfelt Creations' stamps and dies. The chipboard circles behind the photos, was an older peice from Pink Paislee's Luxe collection. Hey everyone. Just wanted to share a layout I created for Bobunny's April sketch challenge. I used one of their older lines called 'Sweet Life'. One busy little bee!!

Hey everyone. Just wanted to share a layout I created at a crop last fall. I wasn't completely happy with the layout at first, and knew it needed a little something extra.  About a month after the crop, I attended some Karan Gerber classes at My Stamping Studio where I purchased the Classic Sunflower stamp and die set from Heartfelt Creations, and found the answer!! I LOVE these sunflowers!!! They add so much to the page.  The pattern paper, buttons, bling and chipboard sticker are all from Bobunny.  The paper hexagons were cut with a Spellbinder die and the corrugated hexagons were cut with a Sizzix Frameworks die.  A friend at the crop shared the sketch, which she had found on Pinterest.  Below are some close ups and the sketch.  Thanks for stopping by.
