Catching Waves

Hey everyone. I started the background for this page about a year and a half ago at a crop. It had sat on my desk ever since. Recently I have slowly begun to "reorganize" and decided it had to be finished. I was having a little trouble with the type of embellishments to use, and this month's mood board at Cuts2Luv gave me some great ideas. From the mood board I used the following:

The pattern paper I used was from Authentique, and believe it or not, was a baby collection called 'Cuddle Boy'. The stamps and dies used to create the flowers were from Heartfelt Creations (Tropical Hibiscus). I colored the flowers and background with distress ink. I added prills and clear Wink of Stella to the flowers to jazz them up a bit. The wood veneer was from Creative Embellishments and I used embossing powder from Ranger and WOW! to emboss the wood pieces. Other products used were glitter paste from Bobunny, word stickers from Tim Holtz's Ideology line and enamel hearts from Bella Blvd. I used a sketch from Creative Scrappers Volume 4 as well. So Sweet

Hey everyone. Here's my take on Creative Scrappers' sketch #309 and the tic tac toe challenge at The Studio Challenges. This, unfortunately, will be the last challenge at Creative Scrappers, so I would like to say thanks to Kristine for all the wonderful sketches and good luck with whatever the future holds!! For this layout of my little grandson, I used Cocoa Vanilla Studio's 'You Rock' collection. What a great line for boys. The embellishments are unreal. I also used my Silhouette for the first time and cut out the title. For the tic tac toe challenge I used the vertical column in the middle as well as a diagonal row.  Below are some close ups, the sketch and the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

Hello

Hey everyone. Here's my take on Creative Scrapper's sketch #306 and the recipe challenge at The Studio Challenges. I used pattern paper and collectables from Kaiser Craft's 'Indigo Skies' collection. What a beautiful line!! I absolutely love all the blue tones. For the recipe challenge, you were to use as many items on the list as possible. I used the following:

Paint: gesso (hope this counts)
Hand sewing: X's along the edge
Fussy cutting: flower cluster and butterfly
A frame: Navy frame around layout
Buttons

You & Me

Hey everyone. Here's a layout I created for Creative Scrappers' March sketch #304. I used pattern paper and stickers from Simple Stories' 'Love & Adore' collection. The flowers were fussy cut from pattern paper. I embossed half of the little wood veneer heart from Maya Road. The sequins were from Studio Calico and Teresa Collins. Scrap Our Stash March Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Hey everyone. Time for another Tic Tac Toe reveal for Scrap Our Stash. The photo is of my daughter and her boyfriend, Graeme, just before they headed out to their neighbors' Christmas gathering. The pattern paper, diecuts and stickers were from PhotoPlay's 'Holiday Cheer' collection. The flair button was from My Minds Eye. The snowflakes were cut using one of Spellbinders' 'Create A Flake' sets and the doilie was cut using one of Tim Holtz's dies from Sizzix.

For the background, I applied gesso first and then the watercolors using the packaging tachnique. Gold color shine was splattered at the very end. For the tic tac toe challenge, I used the vertical row in the middle: striped paper, gold and flair. The sketch was from Creative Scrappers' 'Creating With Sketches Volume 4'.

Hello Little One

Hey everyone. Here's a layout based on Creative Scrappers' January sketch and Clique Kits' January challenge. I'm so excited to become a grandma!! Can't wait for May to arrive!!! Think of the pictures!!  The products used for this layout came mostly from Clique Kits' December 'Wonderland' kit. The challenge at Clique Kits was to use ink/medium on your layout. For this page I first applied gesso to the background and then ink, using a packaging technique, and finally some splatters. Below are some close ups as well as the sketch. Thanks for stopping by!!

Beach Day

Hey everyone. Here's a page based on Creative Scrapper's November #300 sketch. I used We R Memory Keepers gorgeous 'Wildflower' collection. I absolutely love this line and couldn't wait to get my hands on it!!!! I used the 6x6 paper pad, sticker sheet and diecut pack and did a little fussy cutting with the flowers. Hello Spring

Hey everyone. Here's my take on Creative Scrappers sketch #298. The pattern paper, stickers and buttons were all from Bobunny's 'Secret Garden' collection. Gotta love Bobunny!!!! The little bird was fussy cut from pattern paper. I tried a new technique on the background. I stamped distress ink on a piece of plastic packaging, sprayed alittle water and stamped the ink to the background. It worked rather well and I will be trying it again. Shadow

Hey everyone. Here's a layout based on Creative Scrappers sketch #297 and Creative Embellishments August challenge. The photo is of Shadow, the first foal born at our farm. The pattern paper and letter stickers used were from Photo Plays' 'Fresh Picked' collection. The flowers were made using Heartfelt Creations stamps and dies. The chipboard flourish and wood veneer heart were from CE. I embossed the flourish. The little burlap flowers were handcut and rolled. For CE's challenge, the field in the background of the photo reminded me of the field at our farm. The twist was to use something circular so I used a doilie from Bobunny, half pearls and added some splatters. Below are some close ups, the sketch and photo challenge. Thanks for stopping by.
