Sketchabilities #117 / 123 Get Scrappy Challenge #11

Hey everyone. Here's my take on Sketchabilities sketch #117 and challenge #11 at 123 Get Scrappy. I LOVE all the beautiful blossoms in the spring and couldn't resist taking more pictures of the flowering crab tree in my brother's yard. I used the 'Primrose' paper line from Bobunny. For the background, using a stencil from The Crafters Workshop, I applied some distress paint. I then added the pattern papers, stitching and applied modeling paste using the same stencil. I dabbed some paint on my craft mat, added water and using a brush, flicked on some splatters.

The flowers were punched using the retro flower punch from EK Sucess. I used three different size punches. I punched several flowers, inked them with distress ink, misted them with water and crumpled them up. After they were dry, I carefully unfolded them, layered them and added pearls for the centers. I didn't mist the smallest ones as they seemed soft and damp enough after inking them. The piece of greenery was cut using Tim Holtz's greenery die from Sizzix.

  

 To finish things off I fussy cut some butterflies from pattern paper, added some lace from Maya Road and randomly scattered  more pearls over the layout. The title was cut using Tim Holtz's  'Vintage Market' die from Sizzix.

Sketchabilities # 116/ Scrap Our Stash- Stash Challenge #15

Hey everyone. Here's my version of Sketchabilities sketch #116 and Scrap Our Stash's #15 stash challenge. I used Kaiser Craft's 'Art of Life' paper collection. It's the perfect paper for this picture of my daughter and her beloved steed Hugo. The large splatters were added using one of Tim Holtz's stencils. I also used ink spray and flicked on some smaller ones.

The kraft envelope and clock transparency are from Maya Road, and the cute little wooden hearts from Studio Calico.

This is the stash challenge at Scrap Our Stash.

 

Create a MONOCHROMATIC layout and include the following:

1. Your layout should be different shades of 1 color. 

2. You can add black, white or Kraft --- but 75% must be shades of 1 color. 

3. STASH ITEMS: You must also add 5 (or more) DIFFERENT premade/prepackaged embellishments of your choice on your layout. You can use as many of the items you want BUT you will need to list 5 different items. (example - 2 paperclips, 4 buttons, 1 washi tape, 1 twine, and bling)

Creative Scrappers Birthday Bash

Hey everyone. Here's a layout created for Creative Scrappers Birthday Bash. I used pattern paper and letters from Basic Grey's 'Carte Postale' collection. Using stencils from The Crafters Workshop, I first applied modeling paste and then brushed on some distress ink. I dabbed the ink pad on my craft mat, spritzed water on it and using a brush applied the ink for a water color look. I folded some little triangles, attached some sequins and finished it off with some stitching.

Sketchabilities #115

 

 Hey everyone. Here's my take on Sketchabilities sketch #115. I used Prima's 'Stationer's Desk' paper line. I absolutely love this collection. It is sooo pretty. Using a stencil from The Crafter's Workshop, I  first inked and then applied some modeling paste. Once dry I inked the modeling paste and splattered some ink spray around the layout.

 

I used Spellbinder's 'Bitty Blossoms' dies to create the roses. The greenery was cut using Tim Holtz's new 'Garden Greens' die from Sizzix. A bit of stitching completed the page.

Creative Scrappers # 268/ 123 Get Scrappy May 2014 Challenge #10

Hey everyone. Here's my take on sketch #268 of Creative Scrappers and the May 2014 challenge #10 from 123 Get Scrappy. I used the brads, stickers and pattern paper from Basic Grey's 'Persimmon' collection. I love the colors in this line and they don't necessarily have to be used for Halloween or Thanksgiving. The little cogs and gears are from Prima.  Below are some close ups.

Creative Scrappers #265/ 123 Get Scrappy Challenge #9

Hey everyone. Here's my version of Creative Scrappers sketch # 265 and 123 Get Scrappy's challenge #9. For the background I inked cardstock with distress ink and spritzed it with water and splattered some distress stain. I used Basic Grey's 'RSVP' pattern paper and stickers. The flowers were made from a technique found on Pinterest. The lace is from Maya Road. For 123 Get Scrappy's challenge, I picked roses, squares and glossy accents. Creative Scrappers #266

Hey everyone. Here's my take on Creative Scrappers sketch # 266. For the background I used Art Anthology's spray ink, spritzed with some water to give a watercolor look. For the colored circles I used spray ink and distress paint also spritzed with water for the same look. I used My Mind's Eye 'Chalk Studio II' and Bobunny Vintage Double Dot pattern paper.
