Catching Waves
Hey everyone. I started the background for this page about a year and a half ago at a crop. It had sat on my desk ever since. Recently I have slowly begun to "reorganize" and decided it had to be finished. I was having a little trouble with the type of embellishments to use, and this month's mood board at Cuts2Luv gave me some great ideas. From the mood board I used the following:
photo: sunny
technique:frame
embellishment: word stickers
badge:butterfly
The pattern paper I used was from Authentique, and believe it or not, was a baby collection called 'Cuddle Boy'. The stamps and dies used to create the flowers were from Heartfelt Creations (Tropical Hibiscus). I colored the flowers and background with distress ink. I added prills and clear Wink of Stella to the flowers to jazz them up a bit. The wood veneer was from Creative Embellishments and I used embossing powder from Ranger and WOW! to emboss the wood pieces. Other products used were glitter paste from Bobunny, word stickers from Tim Holtz's Ideology line and enamel hearts from Bella Blvd. I used a sketch from Creative Scrappers Volume 4 as well. Below are some close ups and the mood board. Thanks for stopping by.

Scrap Our Stash April Tic Tac Toe Challenge
Hey everyone. Time for another Scrap Our Stash reveal. This is for the April Tic Tac Toe Challenge. The photo is a selfie my niece took last summer. Beautiful!!! The lilies were made from Heartfelt Creations' stamps and dies. The pattern paper was also from Heartfelt.
The chipboard hearts, lattice and title were from Creative Embellishments. For the lattice and title, I first colored them with black distress ink. Once dry I painted on some clear Wink of Stella for a very cool look.
For the challenge, I used the vertical column on the left: border punch, stitching and the color yellow. Make sure to have a look at the SOS blog if you are in need of some inspiration. Thanks for stopping by!!

Count Your Blessings
Hey everyone. Here's my take on Stuck?!Sketches November 15th sketch, as well as Creative Embellishment's November challenge. The pattern paper, diecuts and enamel dots used were all from Carta Bella's 'Autumn' collection. For the CE challenge I was inspired by the leaves and the colors in the photo. You also had to use wood, so I used wood veneer leaves and a heart from CE. Be sure to check out the blogs linked above. There's always tons of inspiration to be found. Below are some close ups, the sketch and inspirational photo. Thanks for stopping by.

Pumpkin Spice
Hey everyone. Here's my take on Creative Embellishments October challenge and the October 1st sketch at Stuck?!Sketches. The photo is a cup of pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks. Fall is my daughter's favorite time of year and this cup of yumminess is one of the reasons why!! Since you can't see the Starbucks on the cup I decided to include one of the cup sleeves. The pattern paper, chipboard frame, diecuts, stickers and brads are all from Simple Stories' 'Pumpkin Spice' collection.
The wood veneer leaves are from CE. I embossed half of the leaves for a cool look.
I was inspired by the pumpkin in the photo from CE. The twist was to use metal so I included some brads. Below are some more close ups as well as the sketch and photo inspiration. Thanks for stopping by.

Shadow
Hey everyone. Here's a layout based on Creative Scrappers sketch #297 and Creative Embellishments August challenge. The photo is of Shadow, the first foal born at our farm. The pattern paper and letter stickers used were from Photo Plays' 'Fresh Picked' collection. The flowers were made using Heartfelt Creations stamps and dies. The chipboard flourish and wood veneer heart were from CE. I embossed the flourish. The little burlap flowers were handcut and rolled. For CE's challenge, the field in the background of the photo reminded me of the field at our farm. The twist was to use something circular so I used a doilie from Bobunny, half pearls and added some splatters. Below are some close ups, the sketch and photo challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

Live Everyday
Hey everyone. Here's my take on Stuck?!Sketches August 15th challenge. I must say that I really love how this turned out. The pattern paper was from Carta Bella's beautiful 'Old World Travel' line. The flowers and clock embellishments were made using Heartfelt Creations products.
For the background I tried something alittle different. To make the large watercolor areas, I stamped an ink pad on a stamp block, spritzed it with water and then stamped the block on the layout. The lattice panel was from Creative Embellishments. The label and word stamp were from Stampers Anonymous.
Alot of my photos seem to be vertical lately, so I rotated the sketch. Be sure to check out Stuck?!Sketches blog. There is alot of beautiful inspiration to be found. Thanks for stopping by.

Hey everyone. Here is a layout based on Stuck?!Sketches July 15th sketch and Creative Embellishments July challenge. I was inspired by the colors in the CE photo. The twist was to use stars. I also rotated the sketch. The pattern paper, flair button, stickers and topper were all from Fancy Pants' 'Nautical' collection. The wood veneer stars were from Studio Calico. Some splatters, stitching and buttons completed the page. Below are some close ups, the sketch and photo inspiration. Thanks for stopping by.

Smile
Hey everyone. Here's my take on Creative Scrappers sketch #294. So happy Kristine is back!!! This blog is one of my favorites. So much inspiration can be found there!! I mixed things up alittle and instead of using circles, I used heaxagons. I also used a tag for journaling instead of strips. This layout was also inspired by Creative Embellishments' May challenge. I was inspired by the bird in the picture and decided to create a layout about my daughter's obsession with ducks. The twist was to use feathers. There are feathers in one of the pattern papers and using dies from Spellbinders, I cut out 3 feathers and layered them near the title. The chipboard hexagons and title are also from CE.
The pattern paper, flair button and small tag were from Fancy Pants' 'Attwell' collection. Below is the picture inspiration and the sketch. Thanks for stopping by.

We Are Family
Hey. Here's my take on Creative Embellishments April challenge. I was inspired by the colors and hearts in their photo. The twist was to use a song title for your title. The CE pieces that I used were the heart and tag. In keeping with the theme of the layout, I used Echo Park Paper's 'The Story of Our Family' collection. Really love the colors in this collection. Below is the photo used for inspiration and some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy
Hey everyone. Here's my take on Stuck?!Sketches March 1st sketch and Creative Embellishment's March challenge. The elements of CE's picture that inspired me were the circles, the water color background and the splatter look to the background. The twist was to tell/show why I am lucky. The photo is of my daughter, when she was out visiting family in BC. I am so very lucky to have her in my life. The chipboard elements I used from CE were the circle under my photo and the title. The pattern paper and element stickers were from Carta Bella's ' Travel Stories' collection. Below are some close ups, the sketch and picture inspiration. Thanks for stopping by.
