Oh Christmas Tree

Hey everyone. Got a layout for you based on three different challenges. At Scrap the Boys, the challenge was to use a picture of a multi-colored Christmas tree as inspiration. At The Studio Challenges, you were to use things that sparkled and shined. I also used the December 15th sketch at Stuck?!Sketches. From the picture I decided to go with a Christmas theme and to use a tree as a focal point on my page, which fit in perfectly with the sketch. For the sparkle and shine, I used tinsel color shine and strips of pattern paper that had a bit of glitter on it. I used an older collection from My Mind's Eye called 'Joyous'. I had several rolls of washi tape belonging to this line, so I decided to create a tree with them. It turned out quite well I think. I fussy cut the Santa and bluish snowflakes, as well as the small strips of paper with a glittery border. The photo is of my grandson getting his first look at a Christmas tree. Pretty sweet!! Grateful, Thankful, Blessed

Hey everyone. Here's my take on Scrap Our Stash's November tic tac toe challenge. The photos are of my daughter and grandson, at our place on a beautiful fall day. Simple Stories' 'Vintage Blessings' line matched the photos perfectly. Everyday Moments

Hey everyone. I bought my first Hip Kit Club kit. WOW!!! Lots of goodies in these kits. This was the September kit, which was full of Paige Evans' 'Turn the Page' collection from Pink Paislee.  I used Vicki Boutin's art crayons to create the background, along with some distress ink spray and color shine. A Day Spent Together

Hey everyone. Here's a layout based on Scrap Our Stash's October tic tac toe challenge.  I used left overs from an older Clique Kit I had laying around.  A true stash challenge. The papers were from Maggie Holmes' Gather collection. For the challenge I used the column on the left: the color orange, doily and mini alphas. Love how these challenges make me dig into my stash. You Rock

Hey everyone. Got a layout for you based on one of The Studio Challenges' September challenges. The challenge was to take inspiration from a book cover. 

From this cover I decided to do a layout with stars and to also use some gold. I had some pictures of my nephew who won a couple of awards, so stars seemed appropriate. I used Cocoa Vanilla's 'You Rock' collection. I love their products!!! The embellishments are to die for!! I embossed the small stars and the 'You Rock' wood veneer with ultra thick gold embossing powder from WOW!  I also splattered some gold color shine around the page. The stars were fussy cut from pattern paper. The page was also inspired from one of Stuck?!Sketches' August sketches. Below are some close ups. Thanks for stopping by.

Love You

Hey everyone. Here's a layout I created for Stuck?!Sketches May 15th sketch and the color palette challenge at The Studio Challenges. The color palette was pink, orange, yellow, beige and green. I also added blue. The pattern paper, ephemera, flair and chipboard stickers were all from Cocoa Vanilla Studio's 'Wild at Heart' collection. This line is SO pretty!! Happy Mothers Day

Hey everyone. Happy Belated Mother's Day!!! Here's my take on Scrap Our Stash's May sketch and word challenge. When I saw the sketch and the word chosen for the challenge I decided to scrap photos of my daughter's first Mother's Day. To say we are thrilled with the new addition is an understatement!! For the word challenge I used the following:

M: metal (brads)
O: orange
T: Tim Holtz (distress inks)
H: hearts, Heidi Swapp (color shine)
E: enamel dots
R: Recollections (cardstock)

I used Simple Stories 'Posh' collection for this layout. The hearts and flowers were fussy cut from pattern paper.

Scrap Our Stash March Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Hey everyone. Time for another Tic Tac Toe reveal for Scrap Our Stash. The photo is of my daughter and her boyfriend, Graeme, just before they headed out to their neighbors' Christmas gathering. The pattern paper, diecuts and stickers were from PhotoPlay's 'Holiday Cheer' collection. The flair button was from My Minds Eye. The snowflakes were cut using one of Spellbinders' 'Create A Flake' sets and the doilie was cut using one of Tim Holtz's dies from Sizzix.

For the background, I applied gesso first and then the watercolors using the packaging tachnique. Gold color shine was splattered at the very end. For the tic tac toe challenge, I used the vertical row in the middle: striped paper, gold and flair. The sketch was from Creative Scrappers' 'Creating With Sketches Volume 4'.

Beach Day

Hey everyone. Here's a page based on Creative Scrapper's November #300 sketch. I used We R Memory Keepers gorgeous 'Wildflower' collection. I absolutely love this line and couldn't wait to get my hands on it!!!! I used the 6x6 paper pad, sticker sheet and diecut pack and did a little fussy cutting with the flowers. Big Things

Hey everyone. Here's a layout based on the Bingo challenge this month at Kaiser Craft. It's a picture of my daughter and her big guy doing what they love best. The pattern paper and collectables are all from Kaiser Craft's 'Provincial' collection. The sketch I used happened to be from their August challenge. I was able to do two lines of the challenge.
