Adventure Time

Hey everyone. I’m back with my take on this month’s Golden Globe Stash Challenge at Scrap Our Stash. The summer theme of this movie inspired me to create a layout of what I’m sure will be one of my grandson’s favourite activities this summer. He loves going to a nearby wildlife park. I think his favourite thing to watch are all the different birds. The photos are of his first trip this spring with some friends. We were to also include a sun on our layout, so using my Cameo I cut a sunburst. Before cutting the file, I coloured the cardstock with distress ink. I also stitched each sun ray and folded up the sides for some dimension. Really love how it turned out. I used Cocoa Vanilla Studio's 'You Rock' collection for this layout and some wood veneer from Simple Stories. This layout was also inspired by a sketch from Stuck?!Sketches. All Boy

Hey everyone. A little late getting my post up for the June Blend a Sketch Challenge at Scrap Our Stash. Once again I have a layout of my grandson. He's playing with a backhoe he received as a birthday present. He seems to be checking out every part of the toy which makes me think we could have a budding mechanic on our hands!! For the challenge I took the three photos and two pieces of pattern paper from the left sketch, and added it to the right sketch. I used star pattern paper and made my own star embellishments. To make the layered stars I added art crayons using the packaging technique to gessoed cardstock. I them stamped on the background and punched out two different sized stars. I then layered the pieces, adding a tiny star fussy cut from the pattern paper. Finally I machine stitched the stars together. I used pattern paper, chipboard stickers, accessory stickers and washi stickers from Cocoa Vanilla Studio's 'You Rock ' collection. This line is perfect for little boys!! First Sketchabilities Reveal !!

Hey everyone. I'm so excited to share my first Sketchabilities reveal !! I love Karan's sketches and was thrilled to join her new design team.  For this first reveal I decided to stay true to my usual style. Watercolor backgrounds, machine stitching, white space and ..... my grandson.  These are some of my favorite photos of his adorable little face. For the background I used Vicki Boutin's art crayons and gold glaze. I mixed the crayons to achieve the color I was looking for and applied the blue color with the packaging technique. For the yellow, I used bubble wrap as a stamp. I applied some gold glaze through a Echo Park stencil and then watered it down and splattered it around the page. The pattern paper, ephemera, puffy heart stickers and stitched frames were from Pinkfresh Studios ' Let Your Heart Decide' collection. Below are some close ups and the sketch. Catching Waves

Hey everyone. I started the background for this page about a year and a half ago at a crop. It had sat on my desk ever since. Recently I have slowly begun to "reorganize" and decided it had to be finished. I was having a little trouble with the type of embellishments to use, and this month's mood board at Cuts2Luv gave me some great ideas. From the mood board I used the following:

The pattern paper I used was from Authentique, and believe it or not, was a baby collection called 'Cuddle Boy'. The stamps and dies used to create the flowers were from Heartfelt Creations (Tropical Hibiscus). I colored the flowers and background with distress ink. I added prills and clear Wink of Stella to the flowers to jazz them up a bit. The wood veneer was from Creative Embellishments and I used embossing powder from Ranger and WOW! to emboss the wood pieces. Other products used were glitter paste from Bobunny, word stickers from Tim Holtz's Ideology line and enamel hearts from Bella Blvd. I used a sketch from Creative Scrappers Volume 4 as well. Hey Papa

Hey everyone. I’m back with June’s Golden Globe Stash Challenge from Scrap Our Stash. This month's movie inspired me to create a layout of my Dad and grandson. For the stash part of the challenge you were to use items in your stash for each letter in the word father. I used the following:

F : foil
A : alpha die
T : tags, thread
H : hemp, heart
E : enamel dots
R : Ranger ink, ruled paper


I used My Mind's Eye's 'Hey Mister' collection for my page. The title of this line also inspired the title of my layout. For the background I used distress ink. Using the packaging technique I applied the blue. I used stamps for the grey circles and then added splatters. I also used a sketch from the Hip Kit Club's weekly sketches for this layout. Live Color Fully

Hey everyone. Here's my take on the May blend a sketch challenge at Scrap Our Stash. I was inspired by the large circle element from the left sketch and the brackets and diagonal piece from the bottom of the right sketch. For the wood veneer pieces I used a mixture from Kaiser Craft and Jillibean Soup. For the background I used acrylic paints from Vicki Boutin. I first painted a circle on a large piece of plastic packaging. I then stamped the image on a piece of white cardstock. The 'Good Vibes' collection from Simple Stories was perfect for this photo of my niece and her friends. Below are some close ups and the challenge. Thanks for stopping by.

Hey everyone. I have a layout to share that is based on the May challenges at The Studio Challenges and Cuts2Luv.  At The Studio Challenges one of their May challenges was to use stencils or masks on your layout. At Cuts2Luv you were to choose 2 items from the mood board. I used all but one. I used the 'Bohemian Dream' collection from Cocoa Vanilla for this layout of my daughter and her little family. This line is so pretty. I used a stencil from Carta Bella to apply modelling paste. The water color background was made using distress ink. Below are some close ups and the mood board.
